Tracking tours/ demonstrated interest

Do we know for sure if UF tracks if you took an official tour? My daughter is a junior, but toured as a freshman. I’m assuming if they are tracking, they would t go back that far. Should we do another??

Don’t know but I would say consider going again as most kids have a different perspective three years later. I have gone twice and learned things each time. I’m sure admissions will answer the question if you ask.

@flprepaidmom Come for a visit if you have an interest but going on tours does not affect an admissions decision.

@flprepaidmom its a really nice campus!.. great places to eat close to campus and always fun to catch a sporting event.

@jhmoney yes we love it. We were just there MLK weekend actually. UF is her first choice. Now that I know that they don’t track the tours for demonstrated interest, I don’t need to worry about another official tour. Maybe she will do a major specific tour in the fall if she figures out what she wants to major in!

@Melissa96 Interesting. How does UF track or measure “Level of applicant’s interest?”

@GatorDad305 - We don’t. Level of applicant interest is not a factor in admissions decisions.

Good to know!

I (gently, humbly) suggest that UF update its CDS C7, which says level of applicant interest is considered…parents/counselors/applicants do pay attention to these things.

Fair Enough

@Mwfan1921 I agree, CDS should be updated if it is not a consideration at all.

I never thought that they looked up whether the 40k+ applicants visited or took tours on campus. Just didn’t seem practical. I figured that the level of interest was surmised more subtly in the application essays and would be a tie-breaker at most.
