Trail-running near campus (within 5 miles)

<p>Hi, does anyone know if there is good trail running near campus, and if the trails are popularly used?</p>

<p>Also could you describe the trails, eg, are there mountains with a lot of elevation gain, eg, 1000'+ ?</p>

<p>I think you can run on the Appalachian Trail, actually. I always run through the woods alongside the river, which is beautiful.</p>
