How much does it cost to take the train to NYC. Is there a princeton student discount? or a rail pass or something? give me the details.

nvm. i see they get a 25% discount. but anyways, whats the most efficient and cost-effective way to go to NYC? Philadelphia?

i believe you can take the amtrak and the NJ transit…

they have theirs pros and cons though.

amtrak: faster, more expensive, all the trains doesnt stop in the princeton junction

NJ transit: cheaper, slower

Round trip to NYC costs $22.50 right now, but prices are going up in May.

It’s about the same to go to Philly, maybe a couple of dollars more. You have to take an NJTransit train to Trenton and change to the SEPTA.

no discount. don’t take amtrak, it’s several hundred dollars and it’s stupid.

^ according to their website there’s a discount.
These are incentive programs available to Princeton University students.

NJ Transit Monthly Pass Student Discount
Princeton Undergraduate and Graduate students are eligible to receive a rail, bus, or light rail monthly pass at 25% off of the regular monthly pass price, when they enroll online through NJ TRANSIT’s Quik-Tik program.

Yeah but no undergrad needs to use NJ Transit enough to justify the cost of a monthly pass, even with the 25% discount.
