Is there a cheap mode of transportation from the campus to the Philadelphia airport? I think there's a train that goes to NYC but I couldn't remember if there's one that goes to Philly.

Thanks.

Dinky to NJ Transit Trenton line, switch to SEPTA train at Trenton (same track), switch at 30th St. Station to an Airport Line train. The PA legs will cost about $12 total; I don’t know what it costs to get to Trenton from Princeton.

There’s probably also some sort of limo service or shuttle bus that’s a little more expensive but a lot more convenient. The same NJ Transit train line that goes to Trenton, if you take it the opposite direction, has a stop at the Newark Airport, and that’s a shorter, more convenient trip than the Philadelphia airport, too.

The train is inexpensive, but it takes a long time and is difficult if you have baggage. There’s a shuttle (Olympic, I think; there’s a link on the Princeton website under “visiting Princeton”) that will pick you up at Baker Rink and deliver you to PHL for around $60.

By train, Newark is a lot easier.

What about to NY? I just know that flights from our city to Philly are some of the lowest in the country for some reason but it sounds like getting to Philly is hard. I guess we’ll look at flights to NY if it’s easier to get there. I think Newark is too small an airport to be inexpensive from our city but I don’t know for sure.

Do students ever have cars?

Does the Dinky go to LaGuardia or JFK airport? Sorry, but flights from our town to Newark are about $100 more than flights to Philly and JFK, so it would be cheaper to fly into NY or Philly.

Thanks.

Dinky is part of NJ transit. Very easy from Newark. If you fly to JFK, you can take the “train to the plane” and that will get you to Jamaica/Penn Station. Then you can transfer to NJ transit and get a train to Princeton. Make sure you buy a ticket to Princeton, not Princeton Junction. At Princeton Junction, you transfer to the Dinky - which is just a small train that goes back and forth from Princeton Junction. Public transportation from Philly airport is tougher and will take much longer than Newark. No obvious public transportation options from LaGuardia.

Dinky+NJ Transit to Trenton is $6.75.
