Hey guys,
So I applied early action to a bunch of schools and was rejected from my top school. Today I found out that the GPA on the transcript that was sent out was wrong. They forgot to add a few of my classes and my GPA was sent as 2.7. It is really a 3.3 UW. My guidance counselor said that since I was already rejected there isn't much I can do. I was also deferred from another school. I'm just really frustrated because it's nothing I could have controlled. That's a significant difference and I'm just wondering if there is anything at all I can do. Thanks

I would request an appeal for admissions and then go talk to a lawyer. You seem to have a strong case suitable for a law-suit.

Civil case!

Yeah there's no point in laying down the arms, there's a definite difference between a 2.7 and 3.3, and it could definitely be the difference between getting in or not. I'm not sure how it would work of if the colleges are liable for anything (they're obviously not at fault, but neither are you) but I doubt many would be that harsh as to shoot you down if you explain the situation. The transcript's a big deal and if there was an error they should be informed.

I agree 100% with the previous posts. Making such a huge mistake on your transcript is a inexcusable mistake on your school's part.

Your school should be bending over backwards to talk to admissions and see if there is any considerations to make on their behalf. It is a pretty big error and I would be pretty ticked. This said, I recommend everyone get an unofficial copy of their transcript before college admission gets them to make sure there are no errors.

lawsuit. now.
