I was one of the lucky applicants who received a "missing transcripts" email. This was naturally a shock since I did in fact send all of my materials back in November. Also, the deadline in which UVA wants my transcripts is on the week my school is closed which is this week (I received this email on Friday). So, I tried to resolve this and called the admissions office. This didn't help at all, I was just told repeatedly to reply to the email. So I did just that and I got a nice generic response that informed me to follow the instructions in the original (which would be somehow re-sending my transcripts by the deadline) to ensure that my application file can be read. So this means by using basic logic, that my application won't even be read because my transcripts got lost in who knows where! Should I just send the transcripts after the inconvenient deadline and cross my fingers?

Well, if you know all of your grades, can’t you send (not email) a note to them explaining: here is the situation, here are the steps I took to try and remedy it, here are my grades, my school will re-send the official ones next week when it’s not closed, the end.

They probably would send another generic message back informing me that I have to send the actual copy, but good idea.

We realize that you can’t control your school. Don’t freak out. Request that the transcript be sent and you’re done. There is no need to call and send more emails.

Dean J,

I need to ask my counselor to fax an unofficial copy of missing test scores (two sets of SATs). The ETS online score report is ten pages per test - should we send the entire report or only the first page, which gives the scores? Thank you very much for your help.

Thanks for the help! I was stressed. I’ll just send them out ASAP.

Lemon, no school wants ten pages of anything! Just send the scores.
