I am an international student from the UK looking to apply to university in the US and have a few questions.

I understand that you have to include a transcript in your application form. In the UK, we take exams called GCSEs in Grade 10 and Grade 11 and exams called A levels in Grade 12 and Grade 13 (high school). Is the transcript just a list of my GCSE final results and my A Level final results?

Also, regarding the mid year report, what Grade is this mid year report for? Is it for Grade 12?

And could someone please explain to me what the school report is? I have read that it is just something that the school councilor writes about me, but I am unsure as to what they write about? Furthermore, how is the school report different
to letters of recommendations from my teachers?

If your school does not rank, don’t worry. Many schools do not rank. Most counselors will include a school profile like the below link, which will assist admissions of viewing your application in the context of of students in your school.

@skieurope Thank you so much! Just one more thing - is it the same case with GPA? Obviously since I’m from the UK my school doesn’t give GPAs, will this be an issue? Should I tell my councilor to state in the report that my school doesn’t provide GPAs and class ranks or will it be acceptable if my councilor just doesn’t mention them at all? :)
