My D received a letter today from a school she applied to EA thanking her for her application but stating that they are missing her Official HS transcript. Her counselor said it would go out within 3 days of her requesting it which was a month ago. She did follow up with him on it as well. This is just so frustrating!
Those of you with more experience....will this affect her chances at this school? or is this a fairly common thing?

i dont think it will be that big of a deal
it wasnt her fault and i think the college will know that

however im no expert so you'll just have to wait and see

I wouldn't worry about it. Kids are rarely penalized because of a failure on their high schools' parts. The fact that you got a letter requesting the transcript means that they're not treating it as though she missed a deadline.

I've been through this a LOT of times. It's pretty common, really, to get messages requesting this or that thing they don't already have. More often than not, they actually do have it but are in error.

Oh, and just to add: Try to relax a bit. I know it's hard, but she'll get in somewhere and it will all work out in the end.

Easy for me to say.

Thanks, Tarhunt, I needed that. You too marcsman. The more I think about it, this must happen quite a bit and I also think the fact that they sent a letter about it makes it more OK. D will definitely follow up on it tomorrow.
Whew....is it May yet?

file a lawsuit vs the school if you want haha

kmaq,

It is no biggie, D can give the letter to the counselor who can call the school and ask if they want it snail mail, faxed or scanned, converted to a PDF and e-mailed. They will give the counselor some latitude as a professional courtesy.

don't worry, my teacher sent his recommendation 6 days past the due date
