TRANSCRIPTS? I've been to three high schools?

Hi, well, I'm applying to ASU (please save the laughs.) I messed up my sophomore year, and do not want to go to community college for two years then transfer to a four year. My GPA sophomore year was 3.0, and 3.8 my junior year (terrible, I know.) So, I'm applying to ASU as a California resident.
I was reading on the site that they need all of the official transcripts from every educational institution you've attended. Well, I've been to three high schools. I moved once, and now senior year I'm doing online school. Do I really need to go back to the high school I attended freshman year to request my transcript? ALSO...I made up my less-than-attractive grades from freshman year at a different school. It would show on the transcript of school #2, but not on school #1 where I received the grade ( I hope I make sense.) How would that work? Do they look at the final grades? And do they even bother with freshman year? Is it just the overall GPA? I know at most UCs and CSUs they focus on 10th - 11th grades. Sorry for all the questions. I'm lost. Thanks.

Yes, you do need to contact each of the schools that you have attended, and request that they send official copies of your transcripts to ASU and any other college/university that you decide to apply to. There might be a small charge for this service. You don’t have to visit the schools in person. You can email them or call them on the phone, and they will tell you what their procedure is. They probably have a form that you need to fill out, and then sign. Many schools will want to have your signature on the paperwork, not just a request by email.

What ASU will make of your grades is up to them. Since you are so worried about this, it might be best for you to ask your admissions counselor at ASU about it. That person should be able to explain how they evaluate this sort of thing.

I can only answer the transcripts question, since my daughter is in a similar situation, having gone to 2 high schools. Some colleges require official transcripts from every high school you attended, while others will accept a transcript from the last high school you attended, as long as it includes the grades from all the other high schools. So check with the schools you are applying to.
