Hi, I am currently attending UW-Milwaukee as a freshman. I moved in a week ago and classes start on Tuesday. So far it is not at all what I expected or the college experience I was looking for. I am originally from La Crosse and if things continue the way they are I want to get out of here ASAP. I would really like to transfer to UW-Madison. So my first question would be am I able to transfer there after one semester? If not, am I able to transfer to another UW school such as UW-La Crosse? Thirdly, I know it is possible to transfer to UW-Madison after a year, but if possible would it be worth transferring somewhere else for the spring semester and then again to Madison next fall? I apologize if this got confusing, but I really appreciate your feedback!

I think you could transfer to other school anytime.

But a week? You couldn’t work out the problems with your roommate? Different roomate? Different dorm maybe?

It wouldn’t be worth the trouble to transfer to somewhere for one semester only, and then transfer again. Not to mention that it’ll look bad to admission officers. Tough it out for a year and then apply.
