Transfer Academic Update

Hello,

I am currently a sophomore at a California Community College planning to transfer this upcoming Fall 2013 to UC Davis. My TAG was accepted as a nutrition biology major. Unfortunately, due to some issues, I could not keep up my grades this past Fall 2012. By the time I Considered to drop my classes to get a “W” it was too late. I received a “D” in my Botany Class and “F” in calculus 1 class. I finished the IGETC and now I’m repeating Caclulus, and taking Chemistry 1A with Zoology. My GPA is now like a 2.8 because of this passed semester but will go back up due to my repetition of Calculus. Do you think it’s possible I may get rejected due to this past semester based on university grade policies?

If you can bring your overall GPA back up to TAG requirements, 3.2 GPA for your major I believe, then you will be fine. It also wouldn’t hurt to call Davis and let them know your current situation. Here is a link to their admissions office contact information.

Instead of calling them, I explained why I received those bad grades in the “Comments” part of the Transfer Academic Update.

And Thanks so much for taking the time to reply
