Transfer Acceptance Dates

Do you guys know when UMCP starts notifying transfer students on if they are accepted or not accepted?

I applied in January, and I've heard for transfers, they may start not notifying people until May.. That is a long time..

Here are my credentials..
I attended Montgomery College during 2000, and failed alot of classes. 4 to be exact, because I was not serious with school. I went back to school in 2004, and I now have 46 credits, with a 3.49 Culmulative GPA. I have made Dean's list in Fall of 2004 and Fall of 2005. No repeats in any gateway classes for the business program (econ 2x, accounting 2x, stat, calc). Only repeats I have is in EN101, MA180 (not required for business school), HS201 and CA120. I had to retake those classes because i had previously failed it in 2000 (more like i never went to class and did not withdrawl). Hopefully if I don't get into the business program, I can get in letters and science and major in economics.

so what are you like, 22 years old? what did you write about on your essay? i'm in the same boat as you, cept in my first year at anne arundel cc

i'm actually 25, i went to the army after 2000 and served 4 years. I also have 2 years of experience working for Lockheed Martin as an accounting assistant (my major is accounting). I did write an essay describing my situation, on why i had failed in the past and what i went through in life to overcome do well in school again.. not the most original topic but it was the truth.

i also have a letter of recommendation written by the head accounting manager at lockheed martin.

I think you're good to go dude. A friend of mine took like 2 or 3 years off after high school and drove to santa fe with his friend and worked there for Whole Foods, then applied to maryland and wrote his essay about the whole santa fe thing and got in with ease.
