Does anybody know the transfer acceptance rate at Brown - they dont publish it on their admissions website like other schools for some reason … Yale and Harvard claims theirs is around 3 percent so I assume Brown would do the same … is this legit or do you think they are bluffing to discourage apps… it seems ridiculously low considering acceptance rates for freshman are around 10 percent for these sort of schools…

I don't know the percentages, but I know it has varied greatly from year to year. I remember one year Brown accepted a lot of kids (and a high percentage) and the following year very few kids got in. It is very dependent on the size of the incoming class, how many students transfer/take years off/go abroad, and that varies every year. The great variation may explain why there is no statistic on the website.

I remember seeing some absurdly low figure on a college sorting site, maybe the PrincetonReview or OCIS. Something like 53 out of 3,000! But sly_vt's answer seems more realistic.

this has been discussed before if you search the forum

but last year there were about 80 (60 fall, 20 spr.) people who transferred in out of either 800 or 1000+ applications. I've seen different #'s.

<-- transfer

it changes drastically every year.

From anyone who transferred to Brown, where did you go previously?

Tulane..ane...ane..(10 char)
