So I am looking at transferring to MSU due to it being a Top 10 Criminal Justice school as well as the fact that my grandmother went there. I have ultimately decided that if I do get in, I am pretty much going there.
When I started college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I was thrown in a pretty rough situation. My roommate was an overall a**, I was depressed, and I had a major that I absolutely hated (Supply Chain Management). Long story short, I ended up with academic suspension from UNL and a 1.8 GPA there after two semesters.
Fast forward about four months to last September, and I enrolled at a community college in Nebraska and changed majors to Criminal Justice as I have always been very interested in that field. After a rough start (one F in an elective that I REALLY should have pass/failed in the first quarter there), I have really picked myself up and am now sitting at a 3.1 GPA. This current quarter, I am coasting with a B average due to hard classes and instructors, so my GPA will probably change very little if at all. Next quarter will be way better and I expect to increase my GPA even more.
So now that I have rambled on about things that most of you probably don’t care about, here is my question. So I will be applying for Fall 2019 and I see that transfer applications open in November. I am wanting to apply in November even knowing that I probably will get rejected based off my year at UNL combined with my somewhat mediocre GPA at CC. If I do get rejected then, is it still possible to apply after the end of my next quarter with an updated transcript, or is it a one-and-done type of deal? Also, do you guys have any advice for anything that could help my application? I am a Native American if that helps. I am considering joining student senate and I will be getting a quarter-long internship next Spring if either of those help as well.
Thanks in advance!
