Transfer Admissions/Computer Science Program

First of all, does Colgate have a strong computer science program?

And second, I only got a 1930 SAT, and haven't taken the SAT II's during my high school years. Should I retake them? I plan on applying as a transfer applicant after 1 year in college (after freshman year).

Finally, how hard is it to transfer to Colgate?

Where are you transferring from?

Transfer Students:
Total number of transfer students who applied: 199
Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 31

If you're asking for aid your chances go to about zip.

"Department faculty are active researchers and have been successful in acquiring NSF grants to support research, curriculum development and educational infrastructure activities in computer science"

I'm not sure yet. Either U Arizona or U Washington (haven't heard from them yet). I also got into Kettering but I don't want to go there.

Basically, my high school gpa was a 2.9. Very inconsistent. Sophomore year I got a 2.2, then junior year I got a 3.6, then senior year I went back down to a 2.9 (3 AP's though).

Is it possible I transfer after just 1 year in college? Should I retake the SAT/SAT II's?

{Is it possible I transfer after just 1 year in college?}}

Sure, but if you do your h/s record will be taken into consideration. After 2 years of college, only your college record is considered.
If you believe you can do better on the SAT, retaking them can only help. Doing well on the SAT subject tests, Physics, Math 11c certainly would be another plus.

If you’re accepted to the UWashington, why wouldn’t you want to go there?

Apparently you’re from the PNW and have applied to large U's. Why are you interested in a LAC on the other side of the country? Just curious.

PNW? I actually applied to some private colleges like Northeastern and Lehigh. Got into Northeastern but they offered no aid.

Anyways, although I love urban campuses, I wouldn't mind going to a small liberal arts school with a beautiful campus and a strong engineering program.
