Transfer admissions decisions?

Does anyone know when NYU will inform transfers about decisions? One of my school's deadline to reply to transfer acceptance is May 1, but NYU's tranfer app isn't even due until April 1. Could decisions possibly be announced within a month's time?

Ok, new question, I found out with some googling that they start notifying transfers about admission "beginning May 15." I know my situation is not unique, is there a way I can convince them to let me know earlier? What do I do?

If you read posts where last year's applicants (or last year's applicants), many received their decisions as early as April. I think it really depends if your application is completed early or not. My sister works in the admissions office (she became an office assistant there this semester as a graduate student), and she tells me they do check the applications early before the deadline if the application was completed. The real reason they say May 15 is because they have so many applications, it would be quite some time before they finish.

You cannot really convince them to know earlier. It really depends if they finish reviewing your application. Know that NYU receives many applications every semester so it is expected that it may be late. Generally they send the acceptance letters first (they want the students to accept theirs before they accept another school), and then send the rejection letters last. The rejection letters that were sent early were those reviewed early.
