Transfer Admissions Decisions

When did Wesleyan mail out their decisions last year? I know they say the 15th but do they ever send them out earlier than that?

My friend transferred here, and he said that it is right around this time that he got his acceptance packet. Be on the lookout, and good luck!

i was wondering the same thing... i've got to respond to another school by the 15th, so yea, hopefully wes might send out decisions early...

yeah...
that's SO late!!!
the woman i spoke to at the admissions department said rather firmly that decisions would be sent out the 15th...
bah.

however, i believe that many schools allow you to extend your response deadline if you're still waiting on decisions from other schools. i'd call and ask.

they said they are sending them ON the 15th? I was looking at some old posts and i read that someone was told if they hadn't heard by the 15th that they could call and get the decision by phone....i wonder if that's the case this year.

i just hope they tell us sooner because it's going to be a really hard decision to decide to transfer (if i get in) and two weeks is not very much time to make a final decision...

mmhmm. the woman told me that they "notify on the 15th". perhaps we will be able to call and get decisions, though...
i know i need to live off-campus, i have three cats who are essentially my children, so finding an apartment with space that takes pets can be kind of a challenge on such short notice. i hate not knowing where i'm going until three months before i go!

i know, i know. i try to focus on the present, but every 30 minutes "crap! aghhhhh, where am i going to college this fall?!" pops into my head... hahah...

alright, so i called today and they said they should be mailing stuff out the 12th, thus we should receive word by the 15th, and if we haven't, we can call and probably get the decision over the phone.

I guess I can stop checking my mailbox hoping it came early....
I wish they would just post the decisions on WesCheck. It makes the waiting even worse knowing they have probably finished the decisions and now are just getting the letters ready.

blahh still waiting :(

well we should get them very soon if they are sending them out on the 12th..it's spring weekend for me which should be distracting enough to make the next few days pass by quickly..

so i applied as a transfer and fin aid is now requesting more info from me...

in particular my discharge papers from the military, anyone know what sort of omen this might be? they didn't ask for them initially and i was told explicitly by fin aid that I had all my stuff in, yet when I checked their site this morning they wanted more info from me as of 5/8/08...

keep in mind the new vet scholarship that was set up to begin this coming fall... http://www.wesleyan.edu/finaid/forms/Veterans.pdf

they wouldn't waste their human resources tracking extra paper of people who aren't accepted right?

sounds like a good sign...it's hard to tell at a school that is need-blind. Makes you wonder if they go about doing FA for every student as if they were accepted.

Either way you should fin out by Wednesday. Good luck...

i meant to say...it makes you wonder if they go about doing FA for every student as if they were accepted or if at this point they know who is in and only ask accepted students for further information.

If that's the case I probably didn't get it...they still haven't contacted me to tell me whether the noncustodial information was waived. I'm 100% sure it would be so I guess they just don't need the info if I'm not getting in. oh well..we'll see for sure on wednesday

"i meant to say...it makes you wonder if they go about doing FA for every student as if they were accepted or if at this point they know who is in and only ask accepted students for further information."

that is my problem, trying to divine what they do as standard operating procedures, I will call tomorrow and ask Finaid about it, hopefully they'll tell me if I'm in...

as far as your fin aid status...

https://cardinal.wesleyan.edu/NetPartnerStudent/logon.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2FNetPartnerStudent%2FPgHome.aspx

is where i checked my finaid status... you can log in and check out what they have and dont have.

best of luck to everyone who applied...

has anyone talked to admissions to see if they sent out he decisions today?

i talked to the program coordinator today and she told me they were sent out in the late afternoon. good luck everyone!

zomg...I was accepted today
I totally forgot that I applied for Wesleyan..lol

I even paid deposit to Umich

Now seriously, I have to reconsider anyway since Michigan is too far and cold...

congrats, marthanovera!

and a question:
the answer to this might be obvious and i just haven't realized it, but do transfer students get put on waitlists too, or is it just accept or reject by now?

waitlist, too. i was waitlisted today. congrats, marthanovera.
