Hey everyone!

I am currently a second-year student wanting to transfer to Swat. Right now, I am in the Honors Program at a very large state university in the south. I have a 3.71 GPA and have a good number of ECs, including a research assistantship. My HS GPA was 94 (our of 100) and I got the IB Diploma. I scored a 2010 SAT and 29 ACT. Do you believe that these factors would be me below average / sub-par for transfer admission, or are they just about what I should have? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Swarthmore's admissions, especially for transfers, is so individualized that it would be nearly impossible to give a thumbs up or down. However, everything you describe seems like you would be a plausible applicant.

I think the key, for any applicant, is to really think about how specific attributes of Swarthmore mesh with your specific talents and interests. Seems to me that a transfer student could get very specific in that regard.

Good luck.

Interesteddad,

Thank you for your advice.
