Transfer hopeful

I'm currently a college freshman hoping to transfer to Swarthmore next year. I have been googling around to see if they typically accept transfer students, but I haven't found anything. I am having a pretty bad time this year; I definitely did not pick the right school for me. Swarthmore seems like a perfect fit and I so want to attend, but I don't want to get my hopes up only to be turned down.

I guess I'm wondering whether or not there's any point in applying. My ACT in high school was a 32 and my transcript was all A's and B's. This year is going fine grade-wise, but finals are next week so nothing is certain.

Just wondering what it is about Swarthmore that you say “is perfect” and better than where you are now. Depending on what you are looking for, there are probably lots of other schools with that characteristic, that may be a better shot for transferring. A’s and B’s in HS does not sound like a shoe-in for transfer to Swat.

It’s small, D3 athletics, close to my home, academically rigorous, and a very close knit community. I also have friends there who love it.

Hi helix96! I just transferred to Swarthmore this year.
There are 10 transfer students for my year. As far as I know, all of us have very diverse backgrounds. I’m not really sure about the grade “cut-off” points though
As for myself, I transferred from a community college.

I just want to warn you that Swarthmore has a pretty intense academic rigor. I recommend you to apply if you are really interested in Swarthmore’s academic intensity. I’m still adapting myself with the intensity of the classes. However, the students and professors in here are really helpful
I’m really grateful that I decided to apply for transfer.
