Transfer Advice

Hi everyone, I'm currently a junior at a top 50 state university. I am an out-of-state student and after attending this school for three years, I've come to the unfortunate realization that I've been continuously unhappy with where I was. This took a toll on my academics and my GPA took a nose dive after freshman year. Many people have told me to just stick it through but now I'm eager to try something new and I want to take a break from my studies on campus.

(my GPA is a 2.50 as a Finance major)

I've been considering on taking a leave of absence to take some courses at my local community college while working. Afterwards I can go back to campus and stick through with the advice like my friends have told me.

Another option I was considering was doing the same thing except I would try to transfer to a different school after taking some courses this semester (and maybe the following one as well).

I ultimately want to transfer to a different university even if it does mean for me to stay for an extra 1-2 years.

Does anybody have any advice for me? Specifically with the transferring portion?

After 3 years at a university, what courses could you take at a CC which would be of use unless you are planning to completely change majors. By now you are into courses that just aren’t available at a 2-year school.

Maybe a better strategy is to take a year off and work, then transfer to a new university with a renewed purpose.
