Transfer after being admitted?

Hi everyone,

I was admitted to BU for Fall 2014. Not only that, but I also got the Trustee Scholarship. However, I decided to attend a “top 15” school instead. (now starting my sophomore year).

I really am not that happy here, and feel like BU would be a much better place for me. I’m currently at a LAC in a suburban environment, and whenever I’m in a city I just feel I fit in much better. I am considering applying for Spring 2016 or Fall 2016. However, due to some medical reasons and just generally getting into a slump, my GPA at my current college is around 2.8

Do I have a chance of getting admitted? My high school record is quite impressive (I got the Trustee scholarship after all). My grades in college are less impressive, but are partially explained by medical reasons.

I feel like I can do good work, just not at my current college, where I am not happy. This last summer I interned in Boston and worked hard and had a much better time that at my college.

Thank you.

If you get a high GPA your sophomore year at your LAC and document your medical condition you will likely be admitted in Fall 2016. Getting into a slump is not an excuse. Otherwise a 2.8 will not make it. Also there is not much financial aid for transfers.
