Transfer applicants... have you heard yet?

"I just got off the phone with UT admissions and the lady said that they just started making decisions about transfer students. And she said that I probably would not know for another month. So, I guess I'm not going to UT because I have to decide on the other universities that actually accepted me."

I'm with ya. Austin is a good school, but I had it tied with GA Tech and if it seemed a cooler place I was gonna go there. But, GA wants an answer by May 1st, so i'm fairly certain at this point that i'm not giong to choose Austin because they aren't giving us any time to visit once accepted before making our decisions.

I tend not to believe this was their "master plan".. to get the transfers to go elsewhere. Wouldn't it just be easier to send out denial letters? If they weren't going to be able to tell us until May, then they should have made that clear. I feel like i've wasted 50$. If they aren't going to let us know until next month, I would gladly withdraw my app and have my cash back if given the opp! I wonder what the ratio of accepted vs enrolled transfers was for last year, certainly this must be a fluke..?.

You're absolutely right. If it was going to be this long, they should have let us know instead of replying students' emails with different answers. It really upsets me.
I was gonna skip summer semester if I got in UT. But if I get rejected then I will have to take a few courses this summer. Now I have 3 more days to decide because registration starts this Friday (good classes get full quickly, y'all know.) My admission to UT has a 50/50 chance so I don't know what to do now.

I heard from the Admissions Office that if you are a first-year transfer that they have to wait until your spring semester transcript is in to make a decision.

My dad called after i got off the phone with them yesturday because I do feel like I have wasted $50, or he did rather. The guy told him that if you have more than 24 hours, which i do, then you will know by may 1st. if you have less than that then you will have to wait longer, but he did not really go into any detail as to why. he also probably just wanted to get my dad off the phone.

You're right, headacheartist. that is what i was told, too.

Guys, I've just found out today that I got in. The decision wasn't made until 4 or 5 pm, I believe, because I checked several times. I'm an international student, who should expect to hear from them last, so I think you guys will receive the decision soon, good luck!
I will be attending UT, simply because it's the closest to my house and I can't afford somewhere else. It seems like I've lost the interest I used to have in UT after having to wait this long. It didn't happen to my friends last year though. They were transfer applicants to Fall 2004. There must have been something wrong this semester.

Damn if you guys just got in then how are you getting your housing?

Congrads, K_Austin! Try to cheer up, find the excitement you once had. I guess like you say they just had some issues this year... just wish they'd have made us aware sooner.

Anyhow, best of luck to you! Still no word on mine yet, i'll keep checking but i'm not sure I can go anyhow since my boyfriend needs to find a job and it doesn't seem they have a big IT market out there. I'll probably end up at GA Tech if I don't get Berkeley, regardless of what word I get from UT.

Congratulations, K_Austin. Chemeng, I still have not received a decision either. I keep checking. Definitely, not my top choice, but one of the schools where I have a realistic chance of being accepted (I think...). Anyway, good luck!

thank you, y'all. One thing about the enrollment deposit, I think they will give us more time, depends on how late they inform us. Mine is 05/05, it says on the status check page once you've been accepted.

has anyone else heard yet?

Still nothing. Someone in a class of mine at cc was accepted 2 days ago into petro engineering, another in my class that applied to anthropoloty has still not heard yet, and I have not heard yet (chem e), either.

I am also still pending for business.

Chemeng, congratulations on UCLA. From what I understand they have a good program and coupled with the location, student life, and weather, I think UCLA is great. I am still pending there as well. Berkeley is my top choice. Good luck!

I was just admitted! I feel so relieved. I keep receiving rejection letter. UTA isn't my top choice, but I am really excited. Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard yet! I hope you receive some good news soon! ;)

congrats! still very nervous...hope I hear soon!

Would those of you that have been accepted mind posting your transfer gpa and additional information? Thanks.

in! ahhhh!!! my heart attack has subsided.
3.4 GPA from ACC/UT Extension Courses
this is my third semester to apply for transfer so I am muchos excited! 1st choice major too, biology.
for those of you who havent heard, i spoke to admissions and they said while they HOPED to make decisions for today-- some admission decisions may not be made until early june. congrats to everyone and good luck to everyone else!

Hi, ccstudent. I'm still pending at UT. Ugh, these people are s l o

w.

Berkeley is my top choice, too! If I get into Austin and not Berkeley, Austin will be up there with the rest I have to decide on. They have a good program I hear, but if I don't get into Berkeley, all other school are created equal, imo:p

i'm in. 3.366 gpa. second choice major: biology.

I got accepted to my second choice school (Communications), but rejected from McCombs. I don't think I'm going to go, I'll be going to either Syracuse University (accepted already) or NYU (waiting...).

I have a 3.62 GPA @ Southwestern University, business major.
