I recently sent in my transfer application using UConn’s online application. It says that a netid will be sent within five days of submitting the application so you can check on the status. It’s been over five days and I haven’t received a netid. I just want to check to make sure my application materials have been received. Does it usually take longer for the netid to arrive? should I wait or just call UConn to determine my application status? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!
I would wait a few more days. If you still haven’t received a NetId after then, I would contact some one about it. I’m not sure if you would contact admissions or UITS, but I would go with the former.
Also when you set up your login for UConn, be aware that not everything you sent will immediately appear as received. Processing what you sent may take some time.
I appreciate the advice. I’ll wait until next week; hopefully something comes up. I did check to see if I have a netid using the search function on their website and it says I do, but I can’t activate it.
I was finally able to view my status before I received the e-mail. Now I see it says I need to explain a gap in my education (which I thought I already did in my essay). Do I have to send a formal letter explaining it? I worked full-time during that period, there isn’t much to say. If I wrote it, it’d be a few sentences.
Follow whatever instructions they give you. If they want it sent as a separate document, just make a word document with a short paragraph explaining why you left your previous school and what you did. If you took off time to work with the intention of returning to school later you should include that.
Thanks so much Saintsaens! I wrote a letter explaining my gap in more detail and sent it in, then a week later I got my acceptance. I guess they just wanted a little more information during that period. I was surprised by the turnaround, i’m so happy to be a Husky!
