I am a freshman at UWM and I am interested in transferring to UW Madison. I was wondering when I should apply, I was thinking after my first semester grades from UWM are in. Also why is it easier to get admitted to UW Madison as a transfer rather than as a high school senior?</p>

<p>Check the UW website for transfer admissions. You prove yourself in college- some people do not show they can handle UW for college until they do college elsewhere. Some could do UW work but there isn’t room for them. Also, students with more college credits typically will not take as many general intro classes. UW needs to limit numbers to accommodate the freshmen in those courses. Later fewer people want each course as they focus on a major.</p>
