Transfer away from NYU?

Hi,

So I want to transfer out of NYU. The aid is terrible and I need to be as independent as possible. If I had the extra money, I'd be able to visit home (in India - I am a US citizen though) as often as I'd like to. I'd really like to transfer out. I used to like New York City alot but this semester I've been dividing time between work, classes and my apartment. I don't go out anymore and I am honestly very unhappy.

I went to high school in India, and I got 16 credits from my GCE A levels. I also appeared for another examination board, the Indian Secondary Certificate of Education.
In high school, I got a 91.something%, which is a very high A.
I was a national level debater.
Valedictorian, Student of the Year, Public Speaker of the Year, etc.
SAT - 2180 CR 770 Math 710

I have taken a bunch of pretty difficult courses so my GPA is now around 3.6 and is bound to go down because I am taking a very difficult Calculus and Journalism course. Oh, and PS, I am a sophomore. I'm pretty ****ed at NYU for not accepting me into their scholars program, especially consider the retards (and I say that with all respect!) they invite every year. I am working on this amazing social entrepreneurship project and I have an excellent track record in volunteer work. I am a Marketing research assistant at Stern School of Business.

Do any of you have any suggestions where I should apply? My majors are Economics and Dramatic Literature, and a minor in South Asian Studies. I'm not good at Math, but I'm doing Econ policy so it's not so bad. I was accepted at Emory and Grinnell, and was invited into the Grinnell scholars program. If you have any suggestions (and could chance me) I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!
