Transfer: Bad Idea?

I'm currently a sophomore at UW-Madison majoring in Computer Engineering. I have a 3.2 GPA through 3 semesters. I'm thinking about transferring to UW-Milwaukee for 2 years and either completing my undergrad degree there or transferring back to Madison after those 2 years to complete my degree at Madison. Would it be possible to transfer back at some point in the future to complete my degree and would it pose any problems? Would I likely be accepted back if I maintained a good GPA at Milwaukee?

It would probably be easier because you are within the University of Wisconsin System, but I have to ask the question of WHY?

Besides many schools have a policy that your last 30 credits MUST be done at the school that you plan to receive your degree from. On top of that, that is a general school rule. Individual departments can specify their own rules and usually the higher-ranked the school…the more strict they would be.

I would stay at UM-Madison.
