Can anyone tell me anything about the transfer center? anything other than what is on the website? Are the doubles small? How far is it from central campus? Any pics would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

it's one of the dorms that they are going to tear down in the near future for the new ultra-hip dorms (like becker and cook).

People live in the TC not for its beauty or style but for its social aspect. It is by far the best place for a transfer student to live. The rooms aren't very big (i'd have to say average in size for Cornell). It's located on West campus with the rest of the upperclassmen. It's only a quick walk up to central campus.

Live there if you want to meet alot of great people who are in the same shoes you are. It's very social and the vast majority of people who live there love it.

so it's a pretty ugly building? inside adn out?

pretty much. If you want a lavish lifestyle, try for Becker or Cook. If you want to live with great people and make friends, try the TC.

how do the rooms compare in size to say the gothics on west or the rooms in cascadilla? and does the transfer center have any singles?

not sure about size compared to the dorms you mentioned. Usually Cornell's dorms are pretty universal in size.

yes, there are a number of singles.

pick your dorm for the appropriate social organization rather than room size. what's the point of a nice big room if you're going to be alone and depressed in it. i'm not saying that will happen. I'm just saying the TC puts you in a place where it's easy to meet people because EVERYONE there will be new and looking for friends.
