How difficult is it for an incoming sophomore transfer student to transition and integrate into the Vanderbilt scene? Any advice?

My D transferred to Vandy as a sophomore. She wasn’t interested in rushing a sorority, but she could have if she wanted to do so - she knew other transfers who rushed and received bids. She was able to join the activities on campus that interested her. Overall, it was no more difficult to integrate into the social scene at Vandy than it would have been at other schools.

Fraternities have small pledge classes in the fall as new freshman can’t rush yet. They actively recruit transfers; joining a fraternity would probably be the easiest way to establish a social network.
