Transfer Chances and Advice

I am a sophomore and I'm planning on transferring from a small university in New Hampshire to Northeastern University for their criminal justice program. I also plan on applying to Umass Boston and Westfield State as a backup. I want to know what my chances are at Northeastern and if I can consider Umass Boston or Westfield to be a safety school or match.

I currently have a 3.03 GPA and I hope to get that up to atleast a 3.1 or 3.2 by the spring term. I do not know if it matters but I decided to pick a couple of high level classes for this semester in hope that it would make me stand out. I do not have a job and the only organization I am part of is a member of our Justice Studies Association. Is there anything else I can do from this point to improve my chances? Thanks for any help.

I would say that Northeastern would be a little reach, not saying that's bad. UMass Boston should be a safe match for you if you raise your GPA like you say you will. With Westfield, "The Criminal Justice major requires at least a 2.5 cumulative average for consideration." So a low match or safety depending on how your spring goes. Looks like your on the right track. Hope this helps, good luck.
