I am interested in transferring to Northeastern University, Boston University, or Babson College. I am currently a freshman at UMass Amherst. I am enrolled in the engineering program and have a GPA of 2.57 based on my first semester. I am planning on switching my major to finance, and I am considering different business schools. I wanted to find out if I have any chances of transferring out of UMass with my first semester grades. I applied to NEU early action in high school and was deferred to regular decision and then denied. I have never applied to BU or Babson. I have several alumni from BU (my mom, two uncles, and one aunt). I also have alumni from Babson (two uncles). Are applying to the business programs at these schools a waste of time? Do I have any chance of getting into the liberal arts programs as I could then transfer to the business programs my next semester? Thanks in advance for any advice
