Transfer chances and possible schools? Please take a look!

This fall I will be attending Northeastern as a freshmen with a scholarship. I plan to double major in physics and chemistry. I didn't get exceptional grades in high school (32/45 IB) but I was wondering the chances of me being accepted into better ranked schools for year 2. I have a combined total of 2000 on the SATs, 740 chem and 690 physics - but I was wondering if I managed a 3.9-4.0 GPA throughout freshmen year in college and if I kept my EC active, if I would have a chance at other schools?

I was the leader in multiple school groups (bands and sports teams) and participated in lots of community service throughout high-school. I do rugby and horse riding competitively, though i'm not sure if any schools would really consider these sports. I have multiple music awards for the piano and flute and did an internship over the summer. What schools would you think I'd have a chance in?

I've read multiple threads and none seemed to fit my situation and it sounds like I don't have much hope transferring anywhere better - but it'd be nice if I could get some help and advice. Thank you so much in advance...Also, it'd be great if I could get advice on the kinds of things I should do/achieve/groups I should take part in, in order to reach the highest I can.

Yeah, if you have to spend four years at a no-name school like Northeatern, your life will be ruined because you don’t have a diploma from a school a few places higher in a list published by a defunct magazine?

Throw yourself into your freshman year at Northeastern. Don’t let this one chance at a first-year college experience be soiled by disappointment that you didn’t get into your first-choice school. You can get a great education and prepare for a fulfilling life at almost any school - and Northeastern is hardly just “any” school.

Welcome to the Transfer Students forum, at this time of year the forum is full of threads just like yours:

Did not so great in HS.
Didn’t get into my top school choices.
Want to transfer after 1 yr.
What do I need to do to get into a higher ranked school?

Read the sticky thread Transfer Admissions 101 and take annasdad’s advice.

I was in a similar predicament during my freshman year. However, I didn’t let my hope of transferring to a better school affect my grades and involvement at DePaul. That said, make the most of your freshman year and everything will work out just fine.
