Transfer Chances Fall 2017

I currently attend my local CC in Michigan and plan to transfer for Fall 2017 with Junior standing. I am currently in my sophomore year and my GPA is 3.78. I expect to achieve a 3.91 or 4.0 this semester bringing my accumulative GPA to 3.83 when applying to schools. This would also create a very nice upward trend. My course load is fairly rigorous. My major is Political Science and I have A’s in both Honors Microeconomics and Honors American Government. I did not do so well in High School-about a 3.0. However, both my parents became unemployed leading to our home being foreclosed. During this time, my parents got a divorce, my mom went on food stamps, and I picked up a job at McDonald’s to help support my family. This was the main reason for my poor high school performance. I have three solid letters of rec and I believe my personal statement and supplement essays are fairly strong (85th percentile). I have a solid list of EC’s, but most are from High School. In college I am the Vice President of French Club, economics tutor, and leader of my local Jewish youth group. I also still work at McDonald’s. Here is the list of schools I plan on applying to:

Brandeis (Need-Aware)
University of Virginia
University of Michigan (Confident about)
University of Rochester
Cornell ILR (Need-Blind)
Northeastern
University of Penn (Best friend attends)
Brown (Need-Aware)
Vanderbilt
UNC-Chapel Hill

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated
