Transfer Chances From Temple to Lehigh

Hi,

Well, as the title says, I am planning on transfering from Temple to Lehigh for the Fall 2006 semester. I have a few questions/concerns that I'm kinda hoping you guys could answer or address.

I entered Temple as a freshman this past fall (2005) as a Biology/Pre-Med major. No sooner did I get to my first Chemistry exam did I realize that Bio was not for me. Along with that, there were several things going on in my life that sidetracked me from concentrating on my work and although I believe I will pass all my classes, I do not believe that my cumulative GPA will be anywhere north of the 2.5-2.7 range. The first month into college, my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years dumped me and, although it may sound minute, the break-up sidelined me for awhile. I was in and am currently in therapy and I became terribly home-sick and didn't want to do anything but just go home. I stopped going to most of my classes began giving up due to some of the things going on. I was not getting along well with my roomate (he's a big druggie) and I believe that too had a lot to do with my lack of success. Needless to say, I was not in a very productive environment the first semester. However, all my life I have been a history buff and have since began to ponder the thought of becoming a history teacher. I really enjoy history and in fact, next semester I am taking a couple history courses and a more liberal arts curriculum. I was an average student in HS with a 3.3 GPA and a 1200 SAT and a few EC's. I applied ED to Lehigh last year and got rejected so decided to go to a good school (Temple) and pull off some sick grades in hopes that I might have a shot at Lehigh Fall 2006. I am absolutely in love with that school and it is still my dream to go there. What do you think my chances are if I pull of at least a 3.5 GPA in the spring and then apply to Lehigh as a history major? Any input would be greatly appreciated. THanks!!

buuummmppp....

When you say 3.5 in the Spring, does that mean cum. or for that particular term, meaning the cum, GPA is still a 3.0 or a little higher?

I'd say you want to have a 3.5+ overall to be in good shape for transferring. In fact, you may want to wait until after sophomore year to apply.

any opinions????

bump bump....
