I am a currently a freshman at a very well respected and highly competitive small school in the northeast right now. I really enjoy it at my school, but since i have started, I have realized that I no longer want to be an engineering major, and I would like a school that is bigger than mine (about 6000). I am wondering if i have a chance at gaining admission to UNC-CH. I would probably apply as a biology major.

I did well in high school. I went to a competitive private high school in NJ and had about a 3.6 GPA. I got a 28 on my ACT's.
Since I am just in my first semester I am not really sure what my college GPA will be. Right now it looks like it may be around a 3.4. That is considering that I took an engineering course-load (5 courses instead of 4).
My most positive aspect are my EC's. I won the congressional award gold medal, am an eagle scout, and have done about 2000 hours of community service all over the place (hospitals, habitat, ect.). I have held many leadership positions, and am involved in countless organizations.

UNC has always been one of my dream schools. If I get in, I will probably transfer, but if not, I will stay where I am.

I would really appreciate any insight or suggestions that anyone has. Thanks!
