<p>I just finished my freshman year and missed a lot of schools' deadlines. I am thinking of taking a semester off and working (so i can afford college)/involving myself in community service in my spare time.</p>

<p>Current University - mediocre school - Major: Philosophy
HS Stats: - 3.0 --- 1675 SAT
College GPA:
3.6 first semester
3.78 second semester
(On a pretty solid course load)</p>

<p>Applying with the semester off, how would you chance me on:
Michigan
UTexas--- Here I think my GPA would come in as a 3.9, since i only got one B+, every other class was A- and up
Hamilton
Lafayette
Wisconsin
Conn College
Bates
BU</p>

<p>Are you asking if I came from one? If so, nope. I go to a pretty average school (average in real world terms) think barely in top 100 national on usnews.</p>
