Ok, so i just finished my first semester at the University of Miami and it just isnt the school for me. Im looking next fall to possibly transfer here to the Sociology program.
Heres my stats:
First semster GPA: 3.6
HS GPA: 3.8 (HS didnt rank, but was a competitive HS in VA)
SAT: 1330/1990
Legacy: Father attended NU
Also Im currently Running Track and XC at UM, hopefully that will help as an extracurricular. What are your alls thoughts?

too many beaches and nice weather? i have to warn you we have beaches at northwestern too.

you're in good shape to transfer (good GPAs, legacy, sports - northwestern loves athletes), just make sure to put some thought into your essays

3.6 seems kinda low from U Miami. If it was 3.6 from UMich, UVa, or even Harvard, I'd say you had a good chance. 3.6 puts you at the top 1/3 - 1/4 of UMiami students, no?
I would be hard-pressed to believe that 1/3-1/4 of UMiami students could hack it at NU.
The legacy certainly helps.
