Transfer Chances plz

I moved around alot so I dont have a cumulative avg

Grade 9: 72%

Grade 10: 3.0UW, 4.0W Pre-IB

Grade 11: 84%

Grade 12: 90%

Class rank: 13/431 (only senior year counts in Canada)

Queens University: 3.7 GPA

ECs are pretty good with alot of political, UN involvement etc. My essays are probably my greatest asset. Ive always taken the most difficult courseload at school and honestly never applied myself until senior year (as afforementioned, the only year that counts…this helped me get into schools like Queens and McGill with scholarships). However, I am american (dual citizen) and I would like to attend a school like Bates or Bowdoin. Thanks alot for the help, any suggestions would be welcome.

Well, Bowdoin is incredibly hard to transfer into.

I got in as a transfer to Bates. Show lots of interest and be sure to visit campus for an interview (and nail it!). If you're doing that well in a top Canadian college then you definitely stand a chance. The key is that you're involved in college and show that you haven't been dicking around at a place you hate.

I had:
HS - 3.5 weighted GPA (95 average, so actually a 4.0, though it was probably an 87 average UW)

College - 3.96 UW in an honors program at an average college.
I'm also highly involved in politics (founder and editor-in-chief of a statewide conservative student newspaper that was promptly emulated by the College Democrats at Bates).

Keep at it, good luck.
