I am currently a Sophomore at a the Fashion Institute of Technology studying textile/Surface Design. I have loved my time at FIT and i will receive my Associates degree at the end of this year if i choose not to go for my BFA. But i want to NYU Gallatin where i can build my own curriculum and finally emerge myself in liberal arts subjects that i have only gotten a taste of at FIT. But there is the question of getting in. I went to a very well known public school, and graduated with a 3.3 grade average. I was extremely involved at my school, and was president of several clubs. My SATs were not great 610 Math, 660 Verbal 650 Writing. SAT 2s 690 and 740. In college i have maintained an A average and have taken a massive amount of design courses and also have taken the requirement of 4 liberal art classes a year. I have had several internships working in the design industry. Other than that i am an active member of several FIT clubs. Do i have a chance at Gallatin? Is there anything else i should do to enhance my profile so i will have a better chance? Will the fact that i go to an art school hurt my chances?
