Transfer Chances with a 3.83 GPA at Top 40 LAC?

Stats:
3.83 GPA at Top 40 LAC
31 ACT (32 superscore)
3.3 HS GPA at Top 100 nationally ranked public school/ I took 6 AP’s and many honors courses
I am apart of distinct 3 clubs and was voted freshman captain of my Men’s Rowing Team (NCAA recognized)
Dean’s List and Student-Athlete Honor Society

My reasons for transfer are that I feel as though my school’s political atmosphere is WAY to One-Sided and that they don’t offer the field of business I want to pursue specifically. Additionally, some crew recruitment promises haven’t been fulfilled and I’m beginning to realize I was practically lied to.

Anyway… Here is my list: W&M, W&L, Boston College, UVA (brother currently attends), Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Swarthmore, Emory, Cornell and Colgate

I have 3 letters of recommendation from my business professor, economics professor and exercise science professor. Finally, if I must stay at my current school I would be fine with that, but I feel I should pursue different options on the off chance of acceptance considering money isn’t an issue

Thanks!

Are you currently a freshman at university? If you are still a freshman (only one semester so far at your LAC) then your high school GPA will matter quite a bit. If you are in your second year (three semesters so far at your LAC) then your high school GPA won’t matter nearly as much.

Is your HS GPA weighted or unweighted?

I don’t see any harm in applying now. If you don’t get into a school that you want (or if you get in but it is too expensive), then stay where you are and apply again next year.

@DadTwoGirls
Yes, I’m a freshman and I know that my HS GPA is by far my weakest link. It’s unweighted but still quite low. My hope would be that everything else could outweigh that glaring negative

Go for it.
