Hey everyone.
Im currently a freshman at Boston University, but really would like to transfer. I am not happy here at all. I have a full tuition scholarship here, and while people may think it's foolish of me, I just want to move closer to home.

That being said, I don't really want to sacrifice the level of education and prestige in the process.

Im originally from Long Island, NY and am planning on applying to NYU, Fordham, and Columbia.

NYU is without a doubt my top pick.
I was accepted into the GSP program as a freshman when i applied, but at the tim, a full scholarship at BU just seemed like the logical thing to do at the time.

Im just really unhappy here and I'd appreciate any input guys. I think my essays are gonna be really good and I'm just wondering if you guys can
A.) Chance Me
B.) Tell me any info you may have regarding a NYU and Fordham Transfer especially.
-Financial Aid, Acceptance Rate, Housing Situations.

i really can't say much because i'm actually applying to NYU myself. but really, just go for it and keep positive thoughts. i mean, if you were already accepted before then i'm pretty sure you'd have a good shot.

I’m in the opposite boat I currently attend Fordham, and am trying to transfer to BU to get away from home. Seeing as how you want to be closer to home, and you’re from Long Island, Fordham is a really good option. Most of the kids here are pretty much from Jersey, Long Island, or Westchester. You will definitely find people that are like you enjoy the same interests as you here at Fordham. I really don’t know the transfer requirements for Fordham but your stats seem to be above par to get in.

Esm402,
It sounds like you have a good chance at NYU. As long as your stats didn’t go down when you went to college, there should be little reason for a school not to accept you as a transfer. But, no one can ever know for sure.
I think you will be fine with Fordham - your stats resemble those of many current students.
Good luck and let us know!

I think your biggest problem is that NYU will probably accept you but not give you aid. You should get into Fordham as well but I don’t know about aid there. Columbia is probably out of reach given ACT and GPA.
