Hi,

Can anyone chance me for transfer to northeastern. I am currently at American University in DC and I am a freshman. I will have 15 credits and I am transferring for the spring semester. In high school I had a 3.7 GPA, excellent letters of rec, many extra curriculars such as XC, tennis, both 4 years, also many clubs like best buddies, explorers, invisible children, etc. I have work experience and volunteer experience. I took 2 APs (not many) but got 5s. My average each quarter in high school was a 94 give or take a point. Right now i do not know my grades as we do not find out until December but judging by quiz grades I am in the mid to high As for my classes. Any feedback would be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Being a freshman, you’ve only been at American University for a few months…can you explain why you are looking to transfer so soon/what you are looking to change (academics, location etc)?

I am looking to change closer to home, also a change in the academics. Northeastern is stronger in the sciences than American. I also like a larger school and the fact that it is located in the city rather than on the outskirts.

Did you apply to NU while a senior in high school? If so, you may want to check with admissions to see if they require a certain amount of time before you can re-apply.

I did apply as a senior. I contacted them and they actually Reactivated my file so they have all my info already

You might have a better chance with a year of strong college grades under your belt. if you apply now for Spring, they will mostly be relying on your high school record…and if you weren’t admitted for Fall 2012, I’m not sure your chances would be much better.

Ok thank you for your input!

Just an addition, my SAT scores were 620 CR, 640 MA, 710 WS
