Transfer chances?

I have a steadily increasing GPA since my freshman year. At the school I am currently at I have a 3.2, but if you average all my college years I have 3.0. I have enough credits to be a junior and I have a double major in Sociology and Political Science.

For extracurriculars I am a head delegate on my schools Model Un team, and a vice president of a club. I am also a black male if that helps at all. I am going to cast a broad net and aplly to the following schools UCLA, Rutgers New Brunswick, BU, Northeastern, UNC, UMICH.

Would I be in at any of the schools I listed, or are there other schools I should consider?

No UCLA... but i duno about the other ones

if you're a native new jerseyite, you're probably in at rutgers if you've been going to a decent school and getting a 3.2

You will not even be competitive at chapel hill.

Are there any suggestions for schools I have a shot at, or schools I should be considering? I know some of the schools are not very realistic, but I'm willing to a shot, and put together a well presented application.

like i stated before, if you're from nj, rutgers is a possibility. even if you're not, you've definitely got a shot. northeastern is probably a reasonable choice as well.

Thanks oncearunner I am not from NJ, but I do have family in the area. I also have internship experience doing both policy reasearch, and work in a think tank.

you should definitely get into rutgers new-brunswick and probably northeastern.

In at Rutgers Newbrunswick and Umass Amherst so far still waiting to here back from the following:

GWU
Tulane
Skidmore
Brandeis
NYU

Super reaches: Grinnell, Carleton

congrats so far, curtisj

i think they accept everyone at tulane

I thought so too, but the admissions committee state that they don't. From what I've read, you should have at least a 2.5 GPA.

So yeah, Mr. Curtis Jackson you have a shot at Tulane; if your essays are fantastic, you have a shot at GWU; NYU...as much as I wish the best for you, NYU is quite a reach (but great essays can say otherwise); and I am not familiar with the other schools but congratulations to your admission to Rutgers and UMass.

Hey curtis, I'm at UMass right now. You'll probably be headed elsewhere next year -- but just in case you end up here, I might be seeing you on Model UN, haha. I'm part of the team. It's a pretty good team, good delegates, and we win a decent amount of awards, go to good conferences (next year we're doing Yale, UPenn, McGill, Harvard, Princeton, and UVA). Plus we're all really close, like a regular MUN family. So yeah that's about it, haha. Good luck with everything!

In at Tulane

Janel89 you never know I might just end up at Umass because of $$$.
