transfer chances

I usually don't do this anymore but I wanted to get current or past WUSTL students' ideas on my chances for admission, as well as the answers to a couple questions.

First, stats:

Currently at Montgomery Community College
Completed over 60 hours by the time of application with most difficult courseload
GPA: 3.93 (one B :( )
SAT: 2220 SAT II: 740/750/740
ACT: 34
ECS: President Student Government, Lead Singer in Band, volunteer math tutor, couple other club leadership positions.
Recs: Should be very good.
Hooks: none that I know of, other than a dramatic upward trend since high school.

I'm going to be submitting my transfer app on January 15th, which is the first day they will begin to evaluate applications. Hopefully this will show my interest.

Questions:

Those of you that attend - WashU seems to be quite friendly with regards to community college transfers, as it is perhaps the only school I've seen that makes specific mention of CC students in its transfer material. Do you know many people that have transferred from a CC, or is it not very common?

Also, would anybody willing to give my essay a look? I am looking for general comments.

Thanks.

Hi brand-
First of all, I think you have a very good shot. You might even consider sending in your application earlier (I sent mine around Thanksgiving when I applied). As for the CC question, I haven't actually run into many CCers, however this doesn't mean that they don't exist. If you would like me to look at your essay, I'd be more than happy to!

Thanks I didn't think about sending it in even earlier but that's a good idea. J/w, do you remember when you received your decision, approximately? I read on the website that decisions are made within 30 days of receiving the complete app, so I figured around February 15th or so.

I would definitely value your comments on my essay. I'll send you a PM.

I was accepted right around mid-to late February. They were running about a week behind last year in reviewing applications and sending out decisions. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but decisions are released online for transfers.

Yes, I think I read somewhere that decisions aren't given by phone or mail and are made online only. I was interested in the decision date for you because I am basing alot of my other app decisions for other schools on whether I am accepted or rejected from WashU. It's good to hear they are prompt with decisions.

I'll keep ya informed. Thanks for all the help. :D
