Transfer Chances

I am a freshman at UMass Dartmouth, the Charlton college of business. I did badly in high school, 2.2 GPA and 1550/2400 SAT. What GPA would I need to get in order to be a candidate for a transfer to the Northeastern Business school? If it doesn't look hopeful please suggest some other schools with strong business programs in the MA, NY, RI area. Thanks.

well i don’t know what you need to do to be able to transfer but NYU has a really good business program

look into Bentley.

and Babson.

Yeah thanks those are great school, if anybody had some insight on how possible it would be to transfer from Umass Darmouth to one of these schools that would be great. I know that the average transfer GPA’s are on the colleges web pages and collegeboard, but I was hoping someone would have information specific to my case. That is taking into account my poor high school record, the fact that i’m at a state school. I saw Northeastern doesn’t require HS record, is that correct?

any other input?

I transferred into Northeastern University and I had a poor high school GPA. Northeastern University’s transfer admissions are unique because they do NOT require you to submit your high school grades and SATs if you have completed at least 24 credits at a college.

Basically, if you complete 2 semesters as a full time student then all you have to send in are your college grades and the other requirements (does not include high school grades or SATs).

so get a good GPA(at least a 3.3) at your current school and you can probably get in to the Northeastern’s school of business.

Thanks a lot, what school did you transfer from if you don’t mind me asking?

It will be difficult i am international business at NEU. I have friends with 3.3 and 3.4 GPA’s here at NEU that are waitlisted for the business school. You will have a difficult time if you don’t have atleast a 3.5

NYU has a good program, but they usually accept more sophomores than juniors. if u want to head west USC is good. both are expensive though
