Transfer College Admissions

University of Washington Freshman Student ( No Direct Admit to CS).
ACT- 33 ( Is it worth retaking in September just before my session starts? I will most likely improve the score to 35?)
Exceeded expectations in Senior year with a great external exam result( International Student) 97.3% instead of a projected 96% sent to schools I applied for freshman admission in.

I want to shorten my list to 4 or maximum 5 schools. Schools I am interested in after freshman admissions-
CMU (Waitlisted for freshman admission SCS and CIT)
Berkeley ( Waitlisted for freshman admission EECS)
GTech ( Waitlisted for Freshman admission. Also is it really that much better than UW in CS)
Penn ( Waitlisted for Penn Engineering Rejected M&T)
Stanford ( Rejected Freshman Admission)
Caltech ( Did not apply)
MIT ( Rejcted also really low on my list will probably remove)
Harvard ( Did not apply)
Cornell ( Rejected freshman admission)

Reason for transfer in my mind is the denial of access to classes by the CSE department until admitted to Major.

Essays will probably be horse crap as they were last year because I am a privileged little kid who has never faced any hardship or obstacles. No defining moments just a pretty uneventful life.

Anything else I can do to increase the likelihood of transfer success? Also some of these schools do allow Spring Transfer applications should I look into that?

500 posts yay

UCB only accepts Junior level transfers with 60 semester units/90 quarter units and major pre-req’s need to be satifisfied before transfer. Your HS GPA and ACT score will have no bearing on your chances as a UC transfer.

Thanks @gumbymom well then I can cross Berkeley off the list I guess.

Well? Also I applied to UCLA and UIUC, was waitlisted at both but, I don’t really think they are better than UW for CS, any input on that should I include one of them in the list?
