Transfer Credit Evaluation-Help Please!!

Hey everyone, I'm gonna be a transfer student this fall at UW from Indiana university. When i went to my SOAR date I realized my Calculus II class didn't transfer over and neither did my General chemistry accelerated class. Instead my chem class transfered to c103 and slower class other than c109 (c103 and c104 combined). i showed them the syllabus to each class and they said to email it in addition and the classes will most likely transfer. They said i would get the response in 4-6 weeks... I just got it yesterday and neither class transferred...in fact i lost my credit to c103!!! I already covered the material in both classes, the chemistry and calc II (Check their syllabuss), and I am really ticked off. Tuition is not expensive for oos and everytime in the past I called the admissions office they would always say their not in charge and they don't know whats going on....any help? Please..my classes start soon and Im not trying to repeat 10 credits...Help will be greatly appreciated!

It looks like you already appealed the original decision and were denied.

The syllabus are exactly the same and I’m from IU another big ten school…this is 10 credits in total which is $15,000 rougly for me cause im oos. I need to talk to someone in person

Try asking the departments about it. Contact the Math and Chemistry department chairmen by email. They are professors doing their duty for a few years as chairmen and are aware of what goes on in their department’s courses. They may know hoe Indiana fares relative to UW in their fields as well. State that you thought you should get credit for the courses- Chem 103 for the Chemistry dept and the one for the math course. I am not at all surprised you didn’t get credit for Chem 109, this and 115 are very much different from 103. Both Math and Chemistry departments at UW are in among the top 10-20 in the nation and their undergrad courses reflect this. Consider this- many entering UW freshmen will start with Math 221 instead of going on to Math 222 despite passing the AP exam because the first semester calculus course at UW covers much more. Likewise your IU courses may not cover enough material to justify getting course credit from UW.

I presume you transferred for better academics. You can’t just say it will cost $x dollars. You have to look at it as when I finish I will have had a much better education than I would have had elsewhere.
