I’m currently a 3rd year student at a university, and not a transfer. Back in high school, I took two classes at a community college, and received an A and an F (basically gave up and forgot to drop the second class), and having an otherwise perfect GPA, I decided not to report that I attended this CC while in high school (yes, I know I was dishonest). At the time I didn’t think too much of it, and off I went to college.
A few days ago, when I checked my degree progress, I saw (for the first time) a message saying a transfer inconsistency has been found and I should have it resolved. This service is entirely automated and I haven’t been directly notified, but I’m freaking out that it could be about the old CC I’ve attended.
The service didn’t find the actual college, it just said there was an inconsistency. When I was admitted to the school I’d assumed they did their due diligence then, and nothing happened, so the problem kind of went away and I never thought about it until recently.
I’m wondering what the best path forward to stay at the university is at this point. It’s a pretty good school and I have near a 4.0 GPA, so it would be a huge blow to my life if I was kicked out. I’m assuming that currently, they’ve found out or will find out about the old CC and then kick me out for fabricating my undergraduate application.
I’m thinking of trying to have a FERPA block placed, but I’m not sure if that’s a valid course of action. Another option is to be honest in my dealings and just hope that I don’t get kicked out. If anyone has advice or has dealt with this situation, or knows about FERPA/FERPA blocks, please help.
Also, if I was kicked out, would I be able to transfer my credits elsewhere? Or would those just be discarded? Would I ever be able to get a college de
