So I’m taking a course over the summer and I’ve already gotten approval from my department so it will count towards my degree. I was wondering if the score I make in this course will also count towards my GPA at BU. Are summer courses factored into GPA even if they’re taken at a university that’s not BU?

I only know they don’t count towards latin honors, but not sure about overall GPA…

I sure hope not because this course is kicking my booty. It’s 2 semesters of Latin in 5 weeks so I spend hours working on stuff after class and I think I’m not as good as everyone else insert emo-ness.

If its transfer credit, it will not count towards your GPA at BU. I have several transfer credits and none of them counted towards my GPA at BU.

Oh really? And you took them over the summer at a different university?

I took summer courses at my local community college back in high school and a lot of the credits transferred without being added to my GPA.

Last summer I took courses at my local state college. I am doing so again this summer. Neither grade transferred. Only the credits. At that point, BU is just going to admit that you have demonstrated the skill necessary to place out and when the employer asks for those grades redirect them to that university… It kind of sucks for me since I have various different credits/grades from various places V_V - but I take what I can get…

Thanks for the info!
