Hi, I'm currently enrolled as a political science major at a community college and I am looking to transfer to a semi-competitive 4 year university. Since I'm a political science major, will it be looked down upon by transfer admissions committees if I have very few math or science classes? My community college requires 1 math class and 2 science courses as Gen Eds. Besides those 3 classes, my course load has been heavily comprised of PolySci and Humanities courses. Will this hurt my chances, and are there certain classes that they look more favorably upon?

What are their degree requirements for a poli sci major? If you’re not in a math/science heavy major, you typically only have to take a couple of introductory science/lab classes, and a college level math class or two. It’s a good idea to complete these before transferring. I don’t think they’re going to look unfavorably on you for “only” completing the required math/science classes.
