Transfer Credits

I've already applied for Fall transfer admission, but I was trying to see how many of my credits really would count in the case I'm admitted. Since gen-ed/GER requirements are different everywhere, I'm sure a few of mine may not carry over.

In the fall I took:
Intro to Philosophy
Macroeconomics
Mediated Communication:
Introductory Calculus
Music in America

Spring:
Life Span Human Development
Physical Geology w/ lab
Microeconomics
Business statistics
Fundamental Communication (public speaking course)

After attending the prospective transfer day in November, I tried to schedule my spring courses to fit GERs. I noticed that to get into the business school, there's a business stat class at W&M, so I thought taking that is more relevant to my future major (marketing) than taking a regular statistics. I'm just wondering if these count, and if that's on par with what is generally suggested.

Also, is there a way that I can contact an admissions dean to tell them that if accepted I'll definitely attend? I don't want to come of as begging or whiny, but I did apply early decision last year and I'm still extremely interested.

I would not count on getting full credit for the business class. My son had a couple 3 credit hour business classes from UVA (with excellent grades), but when he transferred to W&M, they only gave him 2 credit hours each for the classes. He has the option of taking W&M’s final exams to get the other credit hour of credit for these classes. The explanation given to him was “You didn’t take W&M’s courses, so we can’t give you full credit.”

Unfortunately we cannot let you know about transfer credit until you’re admitted and we have a chance to truly evaluate your transfer credits. And if you applied ED last year we’ll understand your desire to attend W&M
